FLIPPED LEARNING
Flipped learning is an educational tool that involves reversing the traditional order of teaching by delivering instructional content outside of the classroom, usually through videos or other digital media. This allows students to learn at their own pace and review the material as often as needed. The in-class time is then used for discussion, collaboration, and problem-solving activities, which allows for a more student-centered and interactive learning experience. By encouraging students to take an active role in their own learning, flipped learning can lead to deeper understanding, better retention of knowledge, and improved critical thinking skills.
I think that flipped learning is quite a straight forward concept, but when used intentionally and planning for a specific purpose, can make student learning significantly more efficient and effective. I can not count how many times I have heard teachers (including myself) say that we don't have enough time to explore a topic of cover a lesson as in-depth as we would have liked. I think flipped learning could definitely be a solution to this!

Here is an example of how I used Edpuzzle to create a video based flipped learning experience for students to introduce the topic of 'The Heart' or 'The Circulatory System' to students. They could watch and engage with this content at home and then bring that information to class with them so that we would be able to discuss and explore it in different ways. Especially with so much access to information, teachers should not always be spending their time covering this level of content, but should allocate more time for application, analysis, evaluation and creating.
